Custom's nabs pirated discs imported from Pakistan (FVSO News Release)

A new Ontario Region case involves the first confiscation of pirated video compact discs imported from Pakistan into Canada. On Tuesday, July 17, Canada Customs and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confiscated a package at Toronto’s Gateway Post Office, one of the main postal terminals in the area.

The package contained approximately 400 VCD’s with bogus copies of member company titles including Disney’s Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and other animated classics, Columbia TriStar’s Charlie’s Angels and several MGM James Bond titles.

The RCMP have begun investigating the intended recipient of the package, located in Richmond Hill, north of Toronto.
